If you’re looking for a restaurant in Antwerp that combines exceptional food with a truly unique atmosphere, Roji Sushi is one to remember. Tucked away on the Oude Koornmarkt, this restaurant is located in beautifully preserved medieval cellar vaults dating back to the 14th century. The moment you step inside, you’re transported into an intimate and atmospheric setting that feels both historic and modern at the same time.
The name “Roji” is Japanese for “the path of stones”, traditionally the pathway leading to a tea house. It’s a fitting name, since dining here feels like stepping into a world of calm and refinement, away from the bustle of the city above.
On the menu, Roji offers a refined blend of Japanese and French culinary traditions. You’ll find delicate sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and maki alongside dishes like miso cod, gyoza, spring rolls, and premium Ocean Beef from New Zealand. For those who want to experience the full range of the chef’s creativity, Roji also offers multi-course menus and omakase-style dining.
