The story behind Thaison is rooted in passion: Mack and Musa founded the restaurant as a true food-lovers’ project. In the kitchen, Mack’s mother, Punthawee, and Sayfon, both experienced Thai cooks, bring decades of culinary tradition. Their knowledge and care show in every dish, making Thaison feel like a real family affair.

I’ve been there for takeout and dining in, and the quality of the food is outstanding. Honestly, one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been to.

Fun fact

Thaison’s second location in Mechelen recently opened in the former building of the iconic lounge bar Barramundo. Co-founder Musa personally redesigned the entire space, giving it a warm and modern look that perfectly captures Thaison’s signature atmosphere.
