Osaka is a contemporary restaurant and natural wine bar located in the Theaterbuurt district in Antwerp. The concept draws inspiration from Japanese izakaya culture, blending casual dining with an urban, minimalist interior where seasonal small plates are designed for sharing. The kitchen offers a menu of Asian-influenced dishes paired with one of the most extensive selections of natural wines in the city, often served straight from the cask. The focus on natural wines and craft drinks is a defining feature of the experience.
Osaka’s seasonal menu changes regularly to reflect fresh produce and evolving culinary ideas, and its layout includes a terrace area for outdoor seating in warmer months. While it’s known for its shareable, creative plates and wine programme rather than traditional Japanese fare, the casual yet thoughtfully curated approach places it firmly within Antwerp’s vibrant contemporary dining scene.

Em’s star rating
I absolutely love Osaka. The seasonal menu focuses on shareable plates with Asian influences, often including dishes like beef tartare on toasted bread, scallop carpaccio, dim sum and seafood bites such as sea bass ceviche, designed to pair naturally with the extensive wine list. I will always recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
Fun fact
Osaka was created by the same team behind the well-known Antwerp restaurant Camino, bringing their relaxed, Asian-inspired kitchen and natural-wine focus into a new izakaya-style setting in the city.
