Huis De Colvenier is a long-standing restaurant in the centre of Antwerp, housed in one of the city’s historic patrician buildings dating back to 1897. It has built its identity around classic French-Belgian gastronomy under chef Patrick Van Herck, with menus that change with the seasons and focus on market-fresh ingredients such as langoustines, asparagus, lamb, and premium fish and meat cuts.
Huis De Colvenier combines its culinary offering with a rich setting that reflects more than three decades of continuous operation in the city’s gastronomic scene. The restaurant occupies a notable position among Antwerp’s fine-dining options, and its wine cellar, classic décor and seasonal menu concepts contribute to a comprehensive dining experience rather than a quick meal.

Em’s star rating
It feels like a place where time slows down and attention to detail still matters. The menu leans into classic French-Belgian cooking, with well-known dishes such as foie gras, langoustines, seasonal asparagus and beautifully prepared lamb or fish, all clearly driven by what’s fresh and in season. Absolutely love the whole experience of dining here.
Fun fact
The restaurant guides guests through one of Antwerp’s original 200-year-old wine cellars before dinner, where you can enjoy an aperitif and even discuss your menu preferences with the chef, a ritual that highlights how the dining experience blends food and history.
