LIMA Nikkei Izakaya is a contemporary restaurant in Antwerp that brings together the flavours of Peru and Japan in what is known as Nikkei cuisine. The concept is rooted in the cultural exchange between the two countries, combining Japanese techniques with bold Peruvian ingredients and traditions.

LIMA Nikkei is one of those places that really stand out in Antwerp. The mix of Japanese and Peruvian flavours works surprisingly well, and every dish feels carefully put together. I like going there when I want something a bit more special.

Nikkei cuisine, the concept behind LIMA, actually started in Peru, where Japanese immigrants blended their cooking techniques with local ingredients.
