Dabba King Antwerp

Dabba King Antwerp

Dabba King is a lively restaurant in Antwerp’s Zuid area where the focus is on authentic South Indian cuisine from the Chettinad region. The concept centres on bold, layered flavours built from spices like fennel, cumin and cinnamon, combined with fresh ingredients and a clear refusal to tone things down for Western tastes.

The atmosphere feels modern and energetic rather than traditional, with an open kitchen, long bar and music that gives the space a casual, social vibe. At the same time, the food stays true to its roots, aromatic, not overly heavy, and with plenty of vegetarian options.

Dabba King is such a fun place to eat. The flavours are bold and a bit different from the usual Indian spots, and I liked how everything is meant to be shared. I tried a few small dishes, and each one had its own kick. It feels lively, a bit noisy, but in a good way. Perfect for a casual night out with friends.

The name “Dabba King” comes from the traditional Indian dabba. A stacked lunchbox used to carry multiple small dishes. That idea shows up on the menu, where you mix and match different plates instead of ordering just one main.
