Nordica 31 Antwerp

Nordica 31 is a Nordic-inspired eatery and bakery that brings the essence of Scandinavian cuisine and culture to the city. The concept was born from extensive travels through Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Iceland, and Canada, where the owner immersed herself in various culinary traditions and minimalist design aesthetics.

The establishment focuses on Nordic street food, speciality coffees and teas, and homemade sourdough creations, all crafted to evoke a sense of ‘hygge’—the Danish art of creating intimacy and cosiness. Signature offerings include their renowned cinnamon, cardamom, hazelnut, and blueberry buns, as well as smørrebrød, open-faced sandwiches made with homemade Danish rye bread.

Nordica 31 emphasises the use of local and Scandinavian products, prepared with respect for traditional methods and seasonal ingredients. For their speciality coffee, they collaborate with OR Coffee and feature guest roasters from Scandinavia, such as La Cabra, Koppi, April, Coffee Collective, and Drop.

Fun fact

Nordica 31 in Antwerp was conceived during founder Lisa Haesevoets’ travels through Scandinavia, particularly during sleepless nights under Norway’s midnight sun. This unique experience inspired her to bring the essence of Nordic ‘hygge’ to Antwerp, resulting in the creation of Nordica 31.
