Felfel Antwerpen is a contemporary Mediterranean restaurant, known for blending Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern and occasional Asian influences into its menu. The name Felfel comes from the Moroccan word for paprika, a nod to the cultural heritage of founder Anasse and head chef Ilias, and hints at the bold flavours you’ll encounter. The interior is designed to feel warm and welcoming, often centred around a long communal table to encourage shared dining experiences. All dishes are prepared from fresh, seasonal ingredients, and the restaurant focuses on housemade offerings with vegetarian and halal options.

The menu at Felfel features small plates and mezze-style dishes that reflect its fusion approach, such as hummus and baba ganoush with flatbread, crispy falafel, halloumi fries, and shakshuka alongside creative flatbreads topped with ingredients like zaatar, goat cheese or smoky vegetables. I had a great meal at Felfel. The blend of Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern flavours really stands out. The sharing-style menu lets you try a few different things. The dishes are fresh and vibrant, and the non-alcoholic drinks, like mint lemonade or house-made iced tea, complement the food well. It felt like a relaxed evening with bold tastes that were easy to enjoy together around the table. I’m definitely visiting again soon!
