Kolonel Coffee is a well-established name in Antwerp’s speciality coffee scene, with roots going back to 2010 when founder Kobe van Gaveren opened his first coffee bar. In 2016, the brand took a significant step by launching its own micro-roastery, allowing full control over sourcing and roasting. Since then, Kolonel has grown into a small but influential operation with multiple coffee bars in the city, all centred around small-batch roasting and a hands-on approach to quality.
Kolonel Coffee combines that technical focus with a warm, inviting café experience. The spaces are known for their cosy, design-led interiors and relaxed atmosphere, often serving breakfast and lunch alongside a wide range of coffees brewed by skilled baristas.

Kolonel Coffee is one of those places I keep going back to in Antwerp. The coffee is consistently good, you can really taste the quality of the beans, and the atmosphere feels relaxed without trying too hard.
