Putain Putain is a small wine bar and pasta spot in Antwerp’s Zuid district. It opened in early 2023 in the former Bar d’Henri space, when owner Jelle Henneman transformed the interior into what he describes as a “bar à la Parisienne” with a relaxed, accessible feel.
Instead of the often formal or overly curated wine bar experience, the concept focuses on simplicity: good wines, a short menu of pasta dishes, and a setting where people drop in without fuss. Step inside and the atmosphere leans casual but deliberate. Think cosy lighting, vintage furniture sourced from auctions, and a mix of indoor and outdoor seating that encourages lingering over a glass of wine.

Em’s star rating
Putain Putain is one of those places you walk into and instantly feel at ease. The vibe is relaxed without trying too hard, and the whole Parisian-style setting just works. I had a pasta carbonara and a couple of glasses of wine, and everything felt spot on, nothing overcomplicated, just really good quality.
Fun fact
The name Putain Putain is a nod to the iconic song by Belgian artist Arno. It gives the place a slightly rebellious, tongue-in-cheek edge. Very fitting for a bar that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
